Sooko Cafe was conceived as a warm and nature-inspired
stopover for travelers journeying through Rwanda’s northern highlands
toward Musanze — home to the majestic mountain gorillas.
The name “Sooko”, meaning peace, rest, or calmness in local dialects,
perfectly captures the brand’s soul: a tranquil pause between the hills.
The brand celebrates the essence of Rwandan nature, hospitality, and
simplicity — a place where travelers can slow down, enjoy local flavors,
and reconnect with nature through sound, sight, and taste.

The strategic foundation of Sooko Café’s identity is built around creating
a refreshing sanctuary experience.
Situated beside a natural water stream flowing from Rwanda’s lush
hills, the café’s environment is inherently peaceful. The brand therefore
expresses:
Calmness and flow – inspired by the nearby stream.
Warm welcome and comfort – representing Rwandan hospitality.
Journey and connection – serving as a memorable stopover between
destinations.
The visual and verbal identity both draw from these ideas — balancing
organic textures and soft tones with clean, modern simplicity.

Logo Design
The Sooko Café logo was developed to convey natural serenity and local
authenticity while remaining modern and versatile.
Organic Flowing Elements: The design draws inspiration from the
movement of the stream, symbolizing refreshment, relaxation, and the
flow of travel.
Rounded Forms & Soft Curves: Represent warmth and approachability,
mirroring the gentle landscape of Gakenke’s hills.
Subtle Coffee Iconography: Integrated symbols like a coffee cup, leaf, or
ripple (depending on logo version) tie the brand directly to its product and
environment.
Together, these elements create a logo that feels alive, welcoming, and distinctly Rwandan — a symbol of rest and revival.
